It does that even if I simply create a new desktop application and run it from the IDE without writing a single line of code or adding any controls to the window. As soon as I end the running application by closing the window the IDE crashes. It doesn't matter if I run the IDE in elevated admin mode or not. Isn't Real Studio compatible with Windows 8?
