Posts: 431 I regularly sync events in my application with user's
google calendar events.

When I sync events to google they sync with the right time, but when they edit
the event in a google and it syncs back to the program the time gets off by an
hour.

After digging into this issue a bit further I found that despite the fact that
the server is in central time (GMT Offset -6) I've been receiving a GMT offset
of -5. My guess is that this has something to do with Daylight Savings time but
I don't know how to correct for this?

The other problem is that server time, user time, and google time might all be
in different time zones with different DST values. Is there a best practice for
this?
