Depends on if you're inserting into an indexed field or not, how many records are in the database, via SQL, via DatabaseRecord insert, transactions or no transactions, is the server on same machine over the network or over the internet? My experience has been that SQLite can be very fast. In brief testing it was about 10% faster inserting into a million row database that was indexed. But PostgreSQL was much faster in other db operations. But I'm guessing that 10% faster was more my network (SQLite was local machine and PostgreSQL on a different machine) than anything to do with the db. All transactions are faster inside of transactions. In my testing it can speed things up by 50%. If you want REALLY fast then do an in-memory SQLite database and then write it out to disk when you're all done. _________________ Bob K.
