Posts: 353 Typically my app gets installed into the Program
Files (x86) folder on Windows 7. I have a user, however, that says she does not
have this folder and the app gets installed in Program Files and it will not
launch. Is there something I can tell her to do? She's running Windows 7
Ultimate Service Pack 1. It is supposed to write the registration into a
folder in ProgramData. Maybe that's the problem? I haven't had any issues with
anyone before. I guess they all must have the (x86) folder.

x86 version.
Program Files is not writable for your registration data.
Save it to the registry, or to an ini file in SpecialFolder.ApplicationData
(not ProgramData)

Posts: 353 That worked. Thanks! Now I think I need to figure
out how to decide if the user has it installed in the (x86) folder or not. I
guess I can test to see if it exists and if not send it to ApplicationData
instead of SharedApplicationData which seems to work better for multiple users
on one machine.

Location: Netherlands Specialfolder.Applications

will give you a folderitem with Program Files or Program Files(x86) name
You can't write to it, but you might be able to know the folder name and system
type.

If it has (x86) in it, then it would be a 64-bit system otherwise it will be
32-bit.
