Posts: 5 So I'm designing a GUI that queues files to be
processed by a shell app. In a thread I launch the shell app and poll it in a
loop (slowed down by thread yielding) but it seems like after running the shell
app a few hours (for very large files), my program will eventually freeze while
the launched shell app runs fine in the background.

I have no recursive functions and all my variables are small, no variable
growing out of control because of an append. Threads don't have any access
violations (they access arrayed variables, and only with their index number)
and the GUI updates in a thread-safe manner with a timer.

What should I look for when troubleshooting these "burn in time" types of
issues?

Windows platform exclusively for this particular app.

*Edit* Found the issue. After narrowing down what thread it was freezing on
with LiveView, I noticed it was doing a shell.writeline for no particular
reason (remnant of early testing?) so it was probably filling some buffer up
during each loop or something else. Commented it out and it works fine.
