Is there a way to set one object in front of another? Similar to using z?

Much appreciated,
Tim

Location: Portland, OR USA You cannot change the z-order of
controls directly. But you can remove a control and add it back. The most
recently added control is on top.

the top of the window designer (not the main toolbar, the toolbar below the
tabs) that say "Forward," "Front," "Backward," and "Back." You can use these
to change the z-order.

I'm not aware of a way to do this at run time, however.

As a side note, there have been many cautions on the forums/mailing lists about
not overlapping controls due to bleed-through issues. I haven't seen this with
anything other than listboxes, but you may want to think about other solutions.

Location: San Diego, CA If your intent is to have Control A
"cover" Control B during part of the program, so Control B can't be seen, and
then switch them later so the B is on top and is hiding A... just toggle the
VISIBLE property.

If the controls you are talking about are CANVAS and you are changing a
"picture" by sliding them around..... Rethink your approach and use a SINGLE
canvas, and DRAWPICTURE instead.

Posts: 897 Hello All, and thank you for your responses!

I saw the bleed, that was one reason to try to adjust the Z. In my case, the
user can relocate the objects during run time, as well as resize them. So at
run, one can overlap the other(s). Further, it may be desirable for the user
to have them over lapped, but without any bleed through. So maybe you all can
see why other objects too, cannot be hidden either....

Other suggestions?

Thanks again everyone!
