The database on this stick will be used at home on an iMac with OS X and it will be used "in the field" on a netbook with Windows 7. Both machines will be reading from and writing to the database on this memory stick. Can I expect problems with this setup? _________________ Mario van Ginneken, using Real Studio 2011R4.3 on OSX 10.7.3 Top Jason_Adams Post subject: Re: Possible to use a Real database with Windows AND Mac OS Posted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 7:48 am Joined: Fri Nov 10, 2006 4:10 pm Posts: 1794 Location: Michigan, USA None that I know of. The database is formatted the way it is regardless of OS, and you can compile for Win32 and OS X. _________________ Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Windows XP Pro SP3 Ubuntu 11.04 via Virtual Box RS Enterprise 2012r1.1 Programming Tutorials & Free Projects: http://www.JasonTheAdams.com "Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried." - G.K. The database won't be huge. _________________ Mario van Ginneken, using Real Studio 2011R4.3 on OSX 10.7.3 Top Paul Lefebvre Post subject: Re: Possible to use a Real database with Windows AND Mac OS Posted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 10:30 am Site Admin Joined: Fri Sep 30, 2005 9:35 am Posts: 971 Location: South Portland, Maine That will work fine. SQLite databases are fully cross-platform. File I/O on USB sticks is usually pretty poor, though. _________________ Paul Lefebvre Developer Evangelist Real Software, Inc.
