Different countries use different formats too. e.g. 12/2/1967 in USA vs. 2.12.1967 in Germany If you want one fixed setting then you have to use something like Rivo's answer, but your users might not like that at all. I personally think it might look very unprofessional. The one place where you can get away with one format is database entry where you would use the standard SQLdate format YYYY-MM-DD.
