Location: NotEvenOnTheMap, CT MySQL will probably be easier to
transition for SQLite, as it is more forgiving. However for a database engine,
more forgiving isn't usually a good thing. PostgreSQL, for all it's
frustrations, is very strict. That's a feature, not a weakness. You can trust
PostgreSQL to take strict care of the data going into and coming out of your
database.

For example, let's say you have a column whose type is VARCHAR(10) and you're
trying to insert 20 characters into it. Do you know what will happen under each
engine?

SQLite: All 20 characters will be stored.
MySQL: Only the first 10 characters will be stored.
PostgreSQL: An error will be triggered.

In my opinion of the three, only PostgreSQL does something sane in this case.

One of several reasons why Postgres is my favorite database.

Why not settle for cubeSQL if you're already using realsqldatabase?..that way
you won't have to modify your application extensively. it's pretty cheap..and
for unlimited connections is now $99 (limited time)

While that's a good quick option, SQLite's lack of type checking is a bigger
and bigger issue as your database grows.

Rollback definitely works. Post some code, we can help.

Location: NotEvenOnTheMap, CT You should explicitly begin a
transaction. If you run into an error, do the rollback and exit. Do not even
try the commit if any error has happened.
