Location: Madrid I've been using shells in synchronous and
asynchronous modes for some time now, but I find myself for the first time
having to control one in interactive mode. All is well for text but for
special/control characters I find myself out of the water.

I need to send arrow keys and the escape key, as well as come meta combinations
to the application. The closest I can find is
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27787&hilit=shell+arrows which says to use chr() to send
control characters, but then viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43161&hilit=shell+control
matches my experience that this is ignored in OS X.

I can't find any other posts dealing with this but the words are so generic I
may not be hitting the proper search gambit.

How do you send arrows keys to interactive shells in OS X?
