I suspect this subject is probably a group of questions for Razzak about the flash screen that appears when the print command is run:

I am puzzled by the behaviour of this screen that gives information about the report that is being printed. This is the one that displays:

Printing page nnnn for report
[Report name] on the
[Printer or file name]
{Cancel button}

I like this screen's data - it's a big improvement, but:

Firstly, this seems to appear only sometimes but I am not sure what conditions cause it either to appear or not to appear.

Secondly, sometimes is seems to change the first line to:
Printing page nnnn of nnnn for report
Again, I'm not sure what causes this.

Please could you explain what controls this screen so I can standardise whatever is it that is causing the differences? I can't see anything different in my reports - I thought it might be the setting for the number of passes but it doesn't seem to be that.

Also, is it possible to suppress the screen altogether? I have a very nice formatted pause message in my standard colours & fonts that gets obliterated by this screen.

Alternatively, is it possible to format the screen in the same way as the pause messages and then drop my pause messages? Or insert the page number(s) into the pause text?

Thirdly, and a much more minor point, when printing to a file (as opposed to a printer) the message looks a little funny:

Printing page 1 for report
Report_name on the
Report_ file_name.EXT

Maybe something like this would be nicer:

Printing page 1 for report
Report_name to [Text/HTML/etc] file:
Report_ file_name.EXT

And, a final request, would it be possible for you to do a "From the edge" - when you have time - on the best settings for printing to files? I'm thinking of things like what to set the printer to, the paper size, page settings - all the things that are not directly relevant to a file but, presumably, play some part in how well the report works.

I have those reports that I print to files now working and they seem to give me the same results that I used to get from v6.5++ although much more slowly - due, I assume, to the sort of settings that I would like to know more about.
