So, use a variable field to show "flat bed"

Javier,
Unless you know something I don't, a pop-up can show '22 - flat bed' and
when clicked will return 22. That means that, when the user moves on to the
next field, on the screen, it will say '22' not 'flat bed'...

Claudine:
Why don't you just use a pop-up box for the field in the scrolling region?
You can display multiple columns such as truck number and description and
then specify which column will be returned. You can use the WHERE clause to
restrict the number of records that you display and there are many ways to
format the box as well.

Subject: [RBG7-L] - Scrolling Region and DB Lookup ComboBox

I have a scrolling region which will have 45 or so objects in a detail table
in a one-to-many form. For three fields, I need the functionality of a DB
Lookup ComboBox, populate and pick from a text field in a lookup table and
return an integer to the underlying table's field. I successfully use this
in the header table.

For example, one field is truck_type, an integer, the truck_type_desc is in
another table. Truck_type might be '22' and the corresponding description
is 'flat bed'. I want to click on 'flat bed' and have it return '22'.

I cannot place a DB Lookup ComboBox on a scrolling region. I can place a
Variable Lookup ComboBox but it doesn't show up after I save the form so I
assume it's also not allowed (it doesn't generate any error messages).

Is there another way to do this? Any suggestion to get me going again?

TIA
