Hi folks,

Since installing build 76 I’ve had a new ‘problem’ with an extra button showing up on the task bar.

I love the PROPERTY APPLICATION TITLE option to have the buttons show which database is open….and I often have two sessions open as I’m designing so that I can have one of Razzak’s sample databases open at the same time I have my own open.  This is very helpful when checking that I’m doing things in a manner consistent with the examples we’ve been given.

When I open my database and name it, I get an appropriate task bar button.

When I then open a new Rbase session for Concomp or one of the RRBYW samples, that also works, and I have two buttons on the task bar, which (as I’ve used the PROPERTY APPLICATION TITLE option) have the correct names.

            Fine so far.

HOWEVER, at some point as I’m working back and forth between the databases, a NEW TASK BAR BUTTON APPEARS SPONTANEOUSLY THAT READS

R:BASE 7.1 (Connected <MyDBNAME>)  If you mouse over it (since the button isn’t wide enough to show all the text) it also indicates what is open in that database (e.g., R Prompt, Database designer, etc.)

I find this annoying and don’t understand why it happens.  I’m fine clicking between the two buttons for my database and the sample database….and this extra button is extraneous and annoying.  If I click on it brings up the same screen as clicking on one of the open databases does (usually mine as I usually open this one first, before starting another session with a sample database)

Is there a reason for this?  Is there a way to suppress it?  I’ve found myself clicking on it to close it, which then closes the session that it Is duplicating.

            Ideas?  Suggestions?
