Sounds like you have a one to many relationship here. One original charge and many payments. In this case I would make a separate payment table consisting of an Invoice No. and payment amount and perhaps payment type (check, credit card, cash), etc. then on your form you could show the original charge and in a region show the payments, and the final balance due. How about adding an ageing - 30 60 90, etc. Hope this helps, if not perhaps you could explain more about your application.
