Is R:Base running on a host or on his home PC? If the latter, nothing can be done since the link speed is going to place a huge penalty on queries. If the former, suggest using an RDP connection or (as has been suggested already) terminal services.
Has anyone used R:Base via a remote connection using Microsoft VPN? If so, can you offer suggestions on how to optimize performance?
I have a client who accesses the company network from his home computer using Microsoft VPN and reports that he can use other software with near normal on site speed, but that R:Base is very slow over this connection.
Can anyone offer suggestions?
