In auditing my hard disk, I found what appear to be several old R:Base 7.0 files which apparently were not, but should have been, deleted.
The files -- all of which carry a 9/13/2003 date -- are:
RB701MSG RB702.MSG RB703.MSG RB70_32.DLL RB70INS.DLL RBEXT.DLL
But before I manually delete these, I want to check whether they are, in fact, RB7.0 files. If so, they're gone.
If they still are needed for RB7.1, then I'll keep my hands off.
All files (RB70*.*) on your list above are pertinent to R:BASE 7.0 ODBC Driver. RBEXT.DLL belongs to 6.5++ and Oterro 2.5/3.0.
Do you have the matching RB711.MSG, RB712.MSG and RB713.MSG files in that directory?
If yes, then, you should delete those files. If not, then don't.
That means that you are using the R:BASE 7.1 with R:BASE 7.0 ODBC driver. There is no problem with that at all. Your R:BASE 7.x ODBC configuration is using those files and you don't want to delete those files.
The BEST scenario would be the following:
01. Obtain "R:BASE 7.1 Full Installer CD" from RBTI which includes
everything up-to-date. (NOT available via on-line download).02. Once received, un-install R:BASE 7.x and then re-install RBG7
using the latest and greatest installer, samples and updates.Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
