Here's one way to automate the entire process:
CONNECT dbname IDENTIFIED BY userid password SCONNECT DSNName IDENTIFIED BY userid password SATTACH ServerTableName USING ... -- do what you have to do with SATTACHed table(s) SDETACH ALL NOCHECK SDISCONNECT DSNName RETURN
