I am actually trying to create my own plug-in.

Charlie,
To design an R:BASE 7.x PLUGIN (Type 100 or 101), take a look
at the sample code and examples described in in-line HELP.
HELP PLUGIN
Type 100 PLUGINs are general type and appear in RBG7 Main Menu.
RBG7 Main Menu | Utilities | Plugins...
Type 101 PLUGINs does not appear in RBG7 Main Menu, but return
a value to R:BASE.
May 2004 R:BASE Developers' Conference CD includes a few samples,
source code and technical article on "Designing and Implementing
R:BASE 7.x Plugin".
Mike Byerley had also created a few cooooool RBG7 PLUGINs.
If you need further details or more samples, feel free to ask.
