I am surprised to hear you say this - I do an SCONNECT from one R:Base database to another R:BASE database in R:Base for windows 7.1 and can select the data, create temporary views linking the data in one table in database A with another in database B, etc. What do you mean by a "DSN Name or Dynamic SCONNECT" - that could be the difference. In my case, the user adds the database to the list of available Sytem DSN's on a given machine using WIndows XP administrative tools and it works fine
