Joel:
Highlight the field in question, right click and select "Object Properties,"
on the upper right side of the Property tab you will see a box next to
"Password Character" type in the box the character that you want to show
when you enter data, in your case *

Is there anyway to set a format mask in a variable edit field in a form that
works like the 'password' mask in a dialog box?  I want the variable field
