I backup all of my development DB to a workstation with a 200 GB drive. I
have a RMD file for each DB that unloads the DB and related files on demand.
(got the code from R:Base). I backup several times during the day if I am
modifying the DB. Every night, I use the standard windows backup program,
via Windows Scheduler, to backup any files that were changed during the day.
At least once per week I upload my DBs to an off site location.

Many customers and developers forget about the importance of taking a copy
of your backups off site. Several years ago I had a client that backed up
his DB religiously but rarely took a copy off site. One weekend his
building caught fire and he lost everything, including all of his company's
records. The loss nearly put him out of business.

Take a copy of your DBs off site!

John

Thanks all for the info. I always tell my users the importance of backup
and then couldn't help but notice I was a bit vulnerable. I'm assuming the
Maxtor has you build a "boot disk" in order to move to another PC if your
hard drive crashed or your PC/laptop was lost/damaged/stolen?
