Mike,

I knew that it would catch anyone's attention who
carefully reads the "What's New in Update 79".

These commands are implemented for a reason; either
requested by the lovely user/developers or Razzak's
wonderful clients who pay his bills <g>. So, there
is always a method to our madness.

After some testing and checking, these *new* commands
were implemented to close and open the dataset (the
driving table of the form) to dynamically assign a
new driving table to the same form without closing
and re-opening the actual form. You'll have to see
the actual application to appreciate this feature.

With the push of a button, now you can change the
displayed data in a form based on a completely
different table without a flicker of the screen!

Well the Icing on that cake would be to set the where clause in a var and open
a form with:

edit using &vWhere

Then at the click of a button

Property TABLE TableName 'CLOSE'

Set var vWhere = 'Where somevalue = '''SomeOtherValue''''

Property TABLE TableName 'OPEN'
Property TABLE TableName 'REFRESH'

and the Recordset changes to the new where condition....

C'mon, can I have it? Please... Please.. Can I??

Are we there yet?? ;-)

Having said that, I'll prepare a cool demo for you
to demonstrate the feature and typical use of these
commands.

Designing "Universal" Data Browser/Editor in a Form.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.

P.S. Did you find any other cooool items in RC79?
