I can confirm, but I believe that's how it's supposed to behave. There was a discussion about the timing issue some months ago on the list. There needs to be a cut off time between keystrokes. I believe someone suggested an enhancement allowing you to be able to increase / decrease the time setting, but I'm not sure anyone actually requested it.
