Hi All, I wish to thank everyone for their suggestions and help in resolving my problems encountered in downloading and installing Upgrade 7.1.80.30421. Thanks to your help and some wizardry by Razzak, all seems to be functioning again in its normal fantastic way. Here's a brief summary of the steps taken: 1. After initial downloading I was unable to make it work in any practical way. 2. Several people suggested that I reinstall R:Base and download again. 3. I did this, but it still would not work properly. 4. Razzak compiled a new version of the update with a different switch to accommodate the dreaded WIN ME that I am using - I downloaded this and it seemed to work well, but I could not connect to any of my databases. 5. Razzak suggested that I check the attributes of my database files. I did this and found that the backup copies of the database files that I used after I reinstalled R:Base had all been modified, apparently by the backup program I used, to become Read Only. After I changed the attribute, everything was back to its normal fantastic self. This has been a great learning experience for me. Over the past 40 years or so that I have been directly or peripherally involved in applying sophisticated computer programs to a wide variety of applications, I have never encountered such a terrific resource for problem solving as is provided by the R:Base Technical Team and this list. It's awesome.
