on 5/5/55 I was sitting in an O'Day Filling station in the town in which I was 
born (2 miles from where I live now).  The O'Day station still had one pump 
that the gasoline was pumped into the upper chamber, which was made of glass 
and had demarcations indicating volume, before being discharged thru the hose 
in that quantity....The station operator was Isacc VanHorn, in his late 70s at 
the time, and lived in one room in the back of the station...
