Bernie: If you want to permanently change your default printer to the new one, then you need to do the following: Make sure that the new printer is installed correctly. Go to the Control Panel (My Computer>>Control Panel) Click on Printer on the Control Panel and you will se a list of the printers available, you will notice that the default printer has check mark next to it. Right click on the printer that you want o make the default, a small window will open and if the printer is not the default, the second option will be "Set as Default Printer" Select this option and this printer will become the new default printer. To test the printer, right click again on the printer and select Properties from the menu, click on the Ports tab at the top and make sure that the printer is directed to LPT1, click on the "General" tab at the top and select "Print Test Page" at the bottom pf the screen...your printer should print now a test page, if it does not, then you have a problem with the printer setup. Close the printer window; close the control panel window and now you have a new default printer. Javier,
