It's sad because there is no argument for using Access. It's just what comes on almost new computers (with M$ Office) that are purchased so that is what our User-Services decides to support. It's more like "why do you have to be different, you trouble maker?" Our argument has always been that our dept has been using rbase for 15 years and the people who want us to change to Access can't design a db that works as well as the ones we have in rbase.

I'm just looking for extra ammunition in case I have to defend my rbase apps and possibly my job in the future.

If you're being pressured to change databases, what justifications are you being offered for making the change? That would seem to be important to know
in order to refute them.
