I have found R:Base autonumbering to be effictively 100% reliable (I believe I once, about five years ago, saw an messed up autonumber column). That is with heavy multiuser use. Other people have reported problems with the autonumbering system. I've never had a problem. Dennis McGrath once posted here an alternate method of getting guaranteed unique numbers if you find that you do have trouble with autonumbering. -- Larry
