Thanks to the dedicated RBTI team and Razzak, the Oterro ODBC engine has
provided me with a very value tool!
An application has been developed and is currently running that is using
UPS Worldship data from multiple computers, for over 300 packages per
day and in real time, automatically updates an order entry system with tracking numbers, number of packages, total freight cost, total weight, ship date and more. So the second that a package has been scanned by the UPS software, customer service can pull up all the above information instantly! And most importantly, not one key punch was required or any user intervention!
When a customer calls about an order, their PO number is entered (or other search methods available) and while viewing the order info, an office button takes the user to the UPS website where they can view all delivery information and print a signature. Again, without any key punching of tracking numbers, etc.. (All driven by Rbase 7.1)
Next step is R:Web and allowing the customer to enter their PO on a website and
provide them with the above shipping information without having to make a phone call!
As the saying goes... imagine the possibilities!
