Thanks Razzak for your time & efforts. (The reference to the 4096 characters
was buried in my 11:04am posting.)

I have tried the new version, but unfortunately with the same result. I do
note that if you don't include the "order by" there is no error message
generated.

R>edit * from systems where pref='02-1'

R>edit * from systems where pref='02-1' order by pref
-ERROR- Row length exceeds maximum of 4,096 characters (2370)

As I mentioned previously if I delete some columns the problem disappears -
can you perhaps clarify exactly what the error message is referring to.
Maybe I just create two tables in the mean time to get around this.

I appreciate your help - thanks for your patience and perserverance.

Regards

John,

There was no mention of that particular -ERROR- in your
earlier postings.

In any case, I have just placed an updated RBG71. See if that
helps.

http://www.RUpdates.com/rbg71
(Pre-Release version of course!)

Make sure log in and download the latest update.

Have fun!

(I don't know about you down under, but I'm really having fun.)

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
