Tip of the Day: Comparing Files in R:BASE Editor 7.5

Version: R:BASE 7.5 for Windows (Update 1)

Among so many requested enhanced features in R:BASE Editor 7.5
for Windows (Update 1), now you also have the option to compare
two files (Compare by Context) to display the color coded "Added",
"Modified" and "Deleted" strings.

Here's how to use "Compare by Context" feature in R:BASE Editor 7.5:

01. Start R:BASE Editor 7.5 (7.5.1.10707) or higher

02. R:BASE Editor Main Menu | View | Toolbars | Compare by Context

    . Notice the floating and dockable [Compare by Context] Window

03. Click on the  "File 1:" file picker icon to select file 1

    You may customize the drop-down menu to select your Objects
    of type.

    You may also check the option for "Open as read-only", if
    you wish.

    Select the file and click on the [Open] button.

04. Repeat Step 03 using the "File 2:" file picker icon to select
    file 2.

05. Now click on [Compare] speed button

    Notice the color coded changes (if any) along with the
    calculated number of differences.

    You may customize this option by clicking on the [Options]
    speed button.

    Following options are available:

    . Ignore Blanks (Default)
    . Ignore Case (Default)
    . Show Differences Only
    . Split Horizontally
