Tip of the Day: Automating the Directory for SCRATCH Files Supported Products: R:BASE 7.x, V-8 "Turbo" and Oterro 3.1 Did you know that you can automate the default directory for the R:BASE/OTERRO Scratch files without knowing the user's right to exact folder? The latest builds of R:BASE 7.1 for Windows (Build: 7.1.81.30720), R:BASE 7.5 for Windows (Build: 7.5.11.30720), R:BASE V-8 "Turbo" (Build: 8.0.9.30720) and Oterro 3.1, include the enhancement to simply type "TMP" for SCRATCH option in RBEngine.CFG, RBEngine75.CFG, RBEngine8.CFG and OTERRO.CFG files. Updating the SCRATCH setting to TMP in the appropriate configuration files, R:BASE/OTERRO will use the user's TMP environment settings for SCRATCH files on startup. Use any text editor or R:BASE Editor 7.5 to edit the configuration file to read SCRATCH settings as follows: SCRATCH TMP This will help eliminate all issues related to the access rights, disk space and so on, when running R:BASE/OTERRO on enterprise servers. Configuration Files: . RBEngine.CFG (R:BASE 7.1 for Windows) . RBEngine75.CFG (R:BASE 7.5 for Windows) . RBEngine8.CFG (R:BASE V-8 "Turbo" for Windows) . Oterro.CFG (Oterro 3.1 for Windows) . Oterro35.CFG (Oterro 3.5 for Windows) . Oterro8.CFG (Oterro 8.0 for R:BASE V-8 "Turbo" Database) The latest updates for R:BASE 7.x and V-8 "Turbo" are available at: http://www.rupdates.com To obtain the latest version/build of your specific license of Oterro, please contact RBTI Support Team at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Enjoy and make sure to have fun! Very Best R:egards, Razzak.
