Alexey:
If you do not have any breaks then just divide the number of records by the
number of lines that fit in a page and you will get the number of pages,
i.e. if you have 325 records and you can fit 50 lines per page the it will
take 6.5 pages. Now, if you have breaks it becomes more complicated; you
could still estimate the number of breaks estimate how many lines each
takes, add the total break lines to the records and then you can determine
"approximately" how many pages long the report will be.
I normally preview reports to the screen and then send the reports to the
printer from the preview screen as Jan suggested, this not only tells me the
number of pages but ensures that the desired data is in the report. I
switched to this approach after a client kept printing several hundred page
reports with the wrong "WHERE" clause; now he sees the data before it is
printed.
