[RBG7-L] - defining text 1 in 7.5

I'm adding a column using the Data Designer.
It defaults to text 8, I change it to text 1 and as soon as I click to save 
or add another col, it changes back to 8.

But if I exit and come back in, then I can change it to text 1

Am I imagining this?
