Have always wondered about the following, but never got around to asking the question on this list, until now.
Ever since version 7.0 I’ve noticed the internal, custom eeps in my forms appearing in the directory. These files are named with a number sequence (apparently created by R:base) with an extension of *.rmd.
So, today, I moved these “autonumberd” files to another folder and paced through all the applications in my main form. Upon exiting the form, the files were re-created, same autonumbering scheme, now with *.eep extensions.
I think I know the answer to my question – as sampling RRBYWx returns the same result to the directory. Do these files represent my internal eeps and do the deleting of them in the directory “damage” the form in any way? In performing back-ups, should I assure these files exist (I don’t think this is necessary, because I can unload and re-load the main form to a “virgin” directory with only *.rb1 – rb4 files and seems to operate correctly)?
Apologies in advance if this same question answered a long time ago – just don’t recall!
Thanks, Brad Davidson
