A workaround is certainly as good as a fix.
(I need to redo that form a bit anyway.)
Great list. I really couldn't live without it.

Ah Ha!
It does it ONLY if you use a variable label though! Try replacing your variable label with a variable edit (set to read only and uncheck tab stop). You can even change the background, border, effects etc. to make it look more like a label.

(It had nothing to do with popups, just lookups.)
I did the following in ConComp.
1. Make a scrolling region using InvoiceHeader with say 15 rows.
2. Make a variable like: vcompany = company in customer where custid = custid
and place it on the form.
3. Also locate custid (or any other column) in the same row
4. Change the custid, click to a different row, and watch vcompany go through all the companies in the row you changed.
Problem arises when the lookup table has say 100+ rows and/or you have 15-20 variables in your form. It must just be the way the lookup works. A customer on a slow network brought this to my attention.

Dennis,
You see this after accessing the popup for a field that is NOT
Equip_Number?? Is this on ENTER or EDIT?
I use popups on many of my forms and my variable lookups do not show
this behavior. To test further I added additional popups with variable
lookups (so there was more than one in the region) and I still don't see
it. Maybe it's a combination of WHERE the popups are (first field, last
field, etc.)????? How many values are in your popup list??
Do you have any EEPs running on exit from the field with the popup, or
on exit from the row? Can you create a quick test using ConComp to see
if it occurs there? I'll try to replicate your scrolling region here if
you provide some more info.

Subject: [RBG7-L] - Scrolling Region behavior
Looking for a workaround to avoid "slot machine" behavior for variable
look ups.
Scrolling region rows have two popup dbedit values and form flashed
through all possible values for a different variable after popup is
selected and you move to the next row, making form run very slow. In
from Variables:
vEquipDesc = Equip_Desc in Equipment where Equip_Number = Equip_Number
After selecting the popup value for a different column in the row and
moving to the next row, all possible values for vEquipDesc are displayed
on the row you just left.
Anyone else observe this behavior and/or have a fix/workaround?
TIA,
Dennis
