To all: It is now the 5th full day after Katrina! People here in the Jackson area have gone crazy about the gas supply! If they only knew how bad it was in the southern part of the state, along the coast and N.O.! The coast doesn't have power to pump gas so they are in very short supply only a few places have generators! The prices on the coast very high ($4.40 a gallon for 87 octane) and limited to $20 bucks purchase, you do the math!
Here in the Jackson area prices haven't increased that much but ever time a station gets gas it's gone! Lines of cars from 150 to 500 are everywhere on the main roads. I've had to drive 80 to 120 miles to get gas or wait in these lines that can take 4 to 5 hours or up to 24 hours depending on when the next tanker truck comes! Pray that this craziness ends soon! We are staying put until gas is more available. We are going to return to the coast to help the many family members pull out wet carpet and trash that flooded into their homes! Everyone is save and healthy! We got power on night before last after four long hot days of August! The school's in Biloxi where my nephews went are estimated to be reopened hopefully by November. Needless to say I've added two more boys to my family here and they will be returning Tuesday! This will be my last public note on this! Thank you Razzak for the wonderful recommendation for other's to help! See all of you at the conference! I'm arriving at 11AM 21 OCT will have a rental car anyone wanting a lift let me know! I'll be returning at 12PM 24 OCT to the airport anyone wanting a lift then too let me know! Be safe have a wonderful weekend! Now I can get back to working on things that will cause cash flow!!! Best regards, Oma Cox
