You may continue to work on your R:BASE 7.5 for Windows application.
To convert your existing R:BASE 7.x for Windows database to R:BASE
V-8 Turbo, all you have to do is the following:
(We'll use the 7.x ConComp database as an example to help you understand
the conversion process)
Steps:
01. Start R:BASE V-8 Turbo and switch the default directory to your 7.x
ConComp database
02. At the R> prompt, type the following command:
TURBO ConComp
Watch the speedy database conversion process ...
This step makes a duplicate copy of your 7.x database to be used
exclusively by R:BASE V-8 Turbo.
New database files will have the following extensions:
ConComp.RX1
ConComp.RX2
ConComp.RX3
ConComp.RX4
X = eXtended
The original R:BASE 7.x database will remain intact as an R:BASE 7.x
database without change.
All R:BASE 7.x Forms, Reports, Labels converted to V-8, along with
your existing R:BASE 7.x compliant code and applications should work
accordingly.
Once the database is successfully converted, it can only be connected
using R:BASE V-8 Turbo.
That's all there is to it!
