Jim, I have a client that uses a wide carriage dot matrix printer. He has been using the printer with 7.1 for more than a year without problem. When I converted the application from DOS to 7.1 I did have a hard time getting the proper combination of driver parameters and RBase settings. Here is what I am currently using.
Print command: PRINT folder1 WHERE file# = .vask1 + option printer|printer_name Folder|PAPER_NAME LETTERTRANSVERSE| Setup options within the RBase report (Page Setup): Portrait Paper size = Width 11, Height 8 Margins are all set to zero Make sure that you have the correct paper type selected in the properties section of the printer driver. In my case it is Letter Transverse. Today they call, and the report display fine on the screen, but when they click on the printer button icon, and select the Epson printer, the report on the screen 'grays out' the right side of the report, and the printer prints only 80 columns for each line. I had the operator manually set the width to 132 with the set command, but the report just won't print over 79 columns. Have any of you seen this problem with a wide report, or the problem with the report on the screen graying out on the right side. ? Just don't know what is causing this problem. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
