I should probably call you Professor Memon. R:Base University is
a wonderful followup to the R:Base 2005 Conference.
At the Conference we get a quick overview of many applications and
techniques that are possible in the newest and also legacy versions
of R:Base.
It is always impressive to see how talented programmers are driving
the software.
But at R:Base University, we learn tools and practices from the one
who designed and built the engine.
It is one thing to see what is possible. Learning to do it yourself
is satisfying, and helps clients more.
How does it work? Where does it work? What do I have to change in
my system or program to make it work in my application on my machine.
That level of tutoring is not as effective except in a personalized
setting.
Razzak, watching you build forms and reports is like viewing an
artist. "What more can we do?" "Would you give it to your client
like this?" "Are we finished yet?" "Let the tools do the WORK for
you."
Combining menu forms, and reports into applications, and using
themes showed how to organize and package a software product.
Watching you use other proprietary software to capture pictures and
create help documentation also revealed some powerful productivity
clues.
Seeing and using many of the examples from RRBYW10 demonstrated the
richness and power of the examples which you have put together for
us.
You put your whole energy, as you do with everything, into this
class, and the results show that.

better R:Base, and then helping us learn to take advantage of it.
