Ned, check the IDQUOTE setting in the db and in the header for the table dump. If they disagree, you will get a syntax error because of the idquote character being taken as a literal.

I reinstalled my backup and it works ie. I can create & delete tables.
However when I create a new table by using a file created by UNLOAD like I
usually do the table is created with no visible errors, but then I cannot
delete ANY table without the Error in my first email shown below
My construction of my database has ground to a halt.
Please offer some suggestions.

=============================:

Recently I’ve Unloaded some tables from another database and put them into
RRBYW10.

Now I cannot delete any tables from RRBYW10 even ones quick one row ones
I’ve just created from scratch for testing.

Neither will the DROP table work without the error.

This does not appear to be the issue as I first thought:
(I had to stop the R:BASE process a couple of times when there was going to
be 27,000 lines of data I’d have to say O.K. to their failure. I’m assuming
the database was corrupted someway when I did that.)

I can move onward from a backup, but I’d like to know more specifically what
one could do to determine what exactly happened and fix something like
that. Or does this just fall into the bucket of “not worth the effort?”

When attempting to delete a table The error is: -ERROR- Syntax error (2367)
