Buddy,

Assign component IDs to all the field and variable objects, run the form in EDIT mode, and control the read-only property using the PROPERTY command based upon your user identification.

Remember that you can assign the same component ID to multiple objects.  If you have some component IDs in play already, you may have to create "groups" of IDs for this purpose, but it is still quite doable.

I have a Tab Form with 16 tabs.

Main Information
Grades
Advisors
..

Since the majority of users should have read only access I bring up the form using BROWSE USING formname

USER1 has read only for all fields in all tabs .

My problem is USER1 should have the ability to edit anything in the Advisors tab.

Is there a way property command can be used to give USER1 edit ability to the Advisors tab only leaving read only for all other tabs.

Thanks

Buddy
