I have made a list of the CD's that are "Enhanced" and "Copy Protected"
from sony with the XCP copy protection that provides a Rootkit.
It is easy to get an "up to date" list with

What Can I do?
It is important to note that if you have tried to listen any of the
above mentioned CD's your computer may have the rootkit installed.
Hence, your system may be in danger of being hacked.

Since I am following this sordid affair with some interest there might
pop up more info on specific CDs. But since there is not yet a media
player integrated in R:Base (?!?) I am not sure it is in the interest of
the list to communicate that here. Please advise me on that point.

Since the original posting I have checked numerous CDs for any evidence of
this - or any other - software that is not identified on either the disk or
the packaging. Luckily, I have found no evidence of this particular horror -
but then I'm also not meant to!!
If anybody knows of a list of such CDs being available either now or in the
future please take the trouble to post a link to it.
