Aren't the mounts behind the fork for a rack, like a big Nitto front rack? That's all I can think they are for. The threaded fender mount on the back is great. I don't think my AHH has it.
Yesterday I got the Nitto Albatross bars I ordered for my Surly. It's totally snowing here in Portland, which isn't entirely odd but not entirely normal either, so I'm working on the Surly. Who knows, maybe I'll get to noodle around in the snow today.
