The Marathon XR's would probably be great. I put a set of 622 X 32 Marathon Plus on my Quickbeam a few months ago. It's been my first experience with Schwalbe tires and so far I'm impressed. Another option would be the Continental Top Touring 622 X 47. I've run a set of them on my Atlantis for about the same application you've described and they're pretty good. Probably a bit less expensive than the Schwalbes too. Not sure they make 'em anymore though.
