I think it's a compromise to hit a price point rather than a philisophical 
conversion.  I think the Yen exchange rate has driven the price of frames made 
there so high that Riv is having more frames built here at the higher end and 
going to Taiwan for the lower (relatively) end.  Fewer sizes means lower costs 
and easier inventory control...

Riv. for the masses (again, relatively) can't be bad!
