To add on to this.  Can think of a couple other reasons not to a "go
fast" steel bike with Riv touches right now -
If Bicycle Quarterly is any indication the trend in go fast seems to
be more for bikes with non-oversized tubing.  That would probably
require another full lug set just for one bike.

There are also a lot of used bikes out there that fit the bill.
Passed on a ca. 1990 RB-2 this summer for $300.  Even though I would
have needed to swap out a lot of components for my own comfort, it
would still would have been a lot cheaper than buying a new frame.
(Decided that with my size and riding style it was a bad choice.
Ended up buying a ca. 1990 mountain bike instead.)

Still, wouldn't be shocked that if enough folks were serious enough to
put money down on a go-fast frame, Grant would have one made.
