No, I haven't made any adjustments. Over all, my bike shifts pretty well. That chain suck occurred when it was REALLY cold out (below zero F), and I was shifting down to the granny while putting pressure on the pedals, starting to a climb of a good sized hill. The only time it happens is in similar situations, so now I just ease off a bit when shifting to the granny.
