I feel so fortunate that I got out today for a big ride. The weather
was great, cold and windy, but the sun was shinning. I headed out SE
today to Clackamas County. I don't ride out there too much. I've done
it a few times before and never really liked it too much. Seems like
everyone out there drives big trucks and drives them fast. That
wouldn't be a problem except most of the roads have no shoulder. None.
Zip. Nada. But oh boy, did I get some epic views and spent most of the
ride on back roads. Seems like I got in a fair amount of climbing.

The Hilsen was perfect for this ride. I remain very satisfied with the
bike and, especially, the Jack Browns. I swear, if people only knew,
and if their bikes could accommodate those tires...

I'm not sure on my total mileage for the day, somewhere around 80
although probably more. I was pretty wrecked heading home, feeling
close to a bonk but I'll definitely be ready for the 200k on the 28th.
I'll probably get out for a solo century next week, weather
permitting.
