Bag hardware quality certainly varies from maker to maker. The Baggins bags I 
have feature middle quality hardware, IMO, while Acorn, Ostrich, V-O all have 
nicer, more solid snaps and buckles. I agree that the Carradice bits are less 
substantial than all the others. How does Minehaha  (Sold by Hiawatha, iirc) 
compare?
